This accessibility statement applies to the Research+Me website only. The Research+Me sign-up form, which you can access by clicking the ‘register’ button on our website, is hosted on a different system. We have provided more information about this system below.
This website is run by the NIHR Patient Recruitment Centre: Newcastle, which is part of The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts
- zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
- navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
- listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

The Research+Me sign-up form
If you choose to sign up to Research+Me by clicking ‘register’, you will be taken to a form which is hosted on a system called REDCap. The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust uses REDCap to capture research data, for example from research participants, safely and securely.
REDCap offers an extensive range of options that allow us to design the form so that we can capture the information we need. Due to the many options that are available, we cannot guarantee that the form is fully accessible. However, the form does offer certain accessibility features such as enlarged buttons and adjustable text size.
Please contact us if you are unable to use the form and we will do our best to help you.
Visiting us in person
Please let us know if you have any accessibility requirements prior to visiting us and we will do our best to meet them. Our unit is wheelchair accessible.
